Practice Focus
Performing joy offers healing from our addictive engagement with domination systems. We are not required to fight for our reality; we can just live it. We can be weird and whole and as shapeshifting as necessary, for we are being called to another purpose. We are being invited to awaken to our true nature as spirit beings, energy sharers, and prophets of potential.~ Dr Barbara A. Holmes.
I am passionate about supporting humans who have experienced the complexity of life imprints that were adverse in a repetitive, cumulative, fear ridden and untenable manner.
Life events like hardships, mis-attuned / disrupted early attachment, neglect, human rights violation, racism, oppression, sexual assault and intimate partner violence impact how we relate to the world.
Though we are built neurobiologically for surviving adversity and bouncing back with resilience, there are times when habitual ways of coping are no longer sustainable.
Talk therapy which focuses on top down processing, mindfulness strategies and meaning making may not resolve the emotional experience which is held in the body memories.
- I am interested in attending to felt sensations, pain, fatigue, burnout, conveying overwhelm, anxiety, tension, or unease.
- I focus on tending to the impact of traumatic stress imprinted in our mind, body and spirit.
- I am curious about discovering ways to listen deeply to our body, that is conveying distress.
- I support my clients in befriending their lived body and finding neuroaffirming pathways to stay attuned and connected with themselves.
