Practice Focus

Performing joy offers healing from our addictive engagement with domination systems. We are not required to fight for our reality; we can just live it. We can be weird and whole and as shapeshifting as necessary, for we are being called to another purpose. We are being invited to awaken to our true nature as spirit beings, energy sharers, and prophets of potential.~  Dr Barbara A. Holmes.

An amplification of adverse/ complex life circumstances [eg. abandonment, fear, hardships, mis-attuned / disrupted attachment, neglect,  violation, narcissism, racism, oppression,  sexual assault and intimate partner violence] impact how we view  ourselves, significant relationships and our place in the world.

In these contexts, our neurobiological capacity for resilience, adapting to adversity and creatively bouncing back is significantly interrupted. The coping mechanisms of the past may not serve us now.

Talk therapy / CBT or a top-down Psychological approach privileges memory, behavioural strategies and meaning-making. These frameworks fragment our wish for embodied safety and relational attunement.

In my therapeutic practice I focus on experientially led emergent-creative modalities integrating our body, brain, emotions, spirt and capacities by

~ attending to felt sensations, restlessness, fatigue, burnout, grief,  overwhelm, anxiety, tension and isolation.

~ resourcing and emotionally tending to the impact of traumatic stress, imprinted as rumination, shame, guilt, and self-sabotage in the mind, body and spirit.

~listening deeply and sensitively responding to emotional distress, panic, pain, hypervigilance, emotional safety, unease and isolation towards ease and connection.
